Margaux Dodds first swam with Fungie in Dingle and Freddie in Amble in the early 1990s. Inspired directly by these experiences to do something to help the global plight of dolphins and whales - both in the wild and in captivity, she went on to become co-founder of the Marine Connection. At first a voluntary group, the Marine Connection's reputation within their field of work grew to the extent that work and projects demanded more and more time, therefore Margaux committed to giving up her job to take up a full time position within the charity. Since then, the charity has expanded and now operates from a central London office.
One of the Marine Connection's main objectives is to ensure everyone understands the importance of protecting these marine mammals and their natural habitat - making a positive difference to the current and long term survival of cetaceans worldwide. |
