It seems that both Dusty in Clare and Venus in Kerry have gone missing from their 'usual' haunts during the last week. Dusty (last recorded Friday 16th Sept) hadn't missed a day at her beach near Milltown Malbay since May, while Venus had been seen every day at the Blasket Islands since July. The dolphins moving on may be connected with seasonal changes, including some windy autumn weather which we have been experiencing on the west coast, and possibly even with a fall-off in visitors - these dolphins do after all seem to thrive on human company, strangely!
Hopefully someone will let us know if and when either dolphin turns up again, either 'at home' or in a new place!
