Totally unpredictable! From beginning to end we had no idea what he was going to get up to.
We were joined in the water today by, Andrea and Hanspaul, a couple from Holland. Andrea has been here on a few occasions before, and it was good to see her back. One of the nice things about swimming regularly with the dolphin, is seeing people return time and again. The two of them had a blast.
There was still a bit of a swell coming in, but it wasn’t anywhere as big as yesterday, it was much calmer.
Fungie was charging around the place as we started our swim, leaping at me on one very fast approach, then diving down under my board just inches from me, exhilarating stuff. He was having fun with us all, including our Dutch friends. Then Fungie turned quite mellow, just cruising around at a much slower pace. In between playing with us lot, he seemed to spend most of his time fishing, there must be some tasty morsels swimming around with the high tide.
Coming towards the end of the swim he turned very sneaky and a bit mad. Disappearing under the water, then lunging out at each of us, before sneaking off once again. He did this over and over, catching us out each time. Then he was gone, and so we decided that it was time to get out. Sometimes you just know when to end the swim, and I think we all felt it today.
