Fantastic, a really great swim today. The weather was beautiful, the sea calm and the dolphin was in flying form. He was jumping like mad again, really massive jumps over us. Over and over Nick, at one stage he was so low over him that he was actually clipping Nick with his pectoral fins, and brushing the board. I don’t think I have ever seen him so close to a person he is jumping over as I saw today, Nick just kept his head down and kicked like mad.
There is something quite special about the rapport that Nick and Fungie have, and sometimes, as today, its nice to stop swimming and just watch the two of them hang out together. Jen and I looked on as the two of them swam off together quite slow and mellow, you cant help but feel the friendship that is there between them. Fungie went to both extremes, from flying through the air, to being mellow and gentle. We watched him swimming off the point for a while, and he was spending a lot of time at the surface, it really was like he was looking around him, maybe he was, a dolphins sight is as good as our own above water.
