We came across these two surfing dudes on the way to the beach who seeing our boards asked us where the surf was? We told them that we were off to swim with the dolphin. Dolphin? There’s a dolphin? So we pointed to the direction they had just come from, and they joined us on our walk to the beach. When the action started they were totally blown away. Fungie didn’t let us down, he came blasting in to Jen and I before spinning off to jump over Nick and then have a quick spin with OJ (previously known as Jen 2, we thought it a bit confusing) Keith had forgotten to bring his board and so had to improvise, which he did in his own inimitable style, the butterfly stroke! It was a sight to see, fully decked out in wet suit, mask and snorkel, doing this very energetic stroke, but no matter what he looked like, Fungie thought it was great. He swam along with Keith, leaping beside him. After a while of waiting for the dolphin to return from one of his fishing interludes we made moves to get out. You can be sure as soon as you take your fins off that he will reappear, which was exactly what happened to me. Luckily the others hadn’t quite made it out of the water and took off with him for another mad flurry. He did some more amazing jumps over Nick before heading away, this time we all got out, as the cold had really begun to kick in.
