The Fungie Diary

Over the last couple of months, regular swimmer Suzanne Murtagh has maintained a near-daily diary, with help from several others, sharing with us all what has been happening in their sessions with the dolphin. These reports will be kept available online, so readers can get a flavour of the action at what is in a way the peak dolphin swimming time in Dingle these days.

Now we are facing into the toughest time of the year in Dingle, weatherwise, when the sea is coldest and the winds are most testing. Suzanne and some other swimmers now have work and other commitments which are eating into their swimming time, and maybe also the dolphin isn't quite as keen as he was back in November - though opinions are divided on that one. For all these reasons the diary has now entered a new phase in which we are no longer attempting to keep up daily entries. However, we're still going down to the beach, at least to have a look, most days of the week, and whenever someone does go out swimming, we will try to get a short report out on the diary page. Thanks to Suzanne and all the contributors thus far!

Later in the year we plan to introduce a new section on the site where summer visitors can also submit their reports on their experiences meeting the dolphin, and we look forward to hearing from many of you then!
